first off, i'm sorry for a post that's so offtopic, but i have a bit of a problem...
i'm currently living up in boston, but I'm from the northern Rockland area (Garnerville, Stony Point, Haverstraw etc.). My cell phone died. (who cares?!?). Back in the day when I got my first cell phone, I had to go with Verizon because it was the only company that actually got reception in that area. I'm thoroughly fed up with Verizon and wanna swich company's in June when my contract's up, but I don't wanna not have reception on the rare occasion I show face in good 'ol Rockland. Has anything changed in the past three years, or is Verizon still my only option for reliable reception there? I'm looking into Cingular or AT&T. Once again, sorry for the offtopic post, but any advice you guys could give would be much appreciated!!

Hey, I hate to just come into this thing and promote, but this is really important.

go to http://www.thehvscene.com/studiowars/ and choose Paris Ave and click vote!!

The winner gets to record a full length for free. Anyone who votes I will give a cookie.

And then, anyone that puts that link in their LJ, aim profile, away message, or anything else that can get it out to people and tell them to do the same, you will be even more extra awesome and I will buy you a taco or something.

Apologies once again, but this is super important for us.

so yesterday i attended the lovely rcc with a friend of mine so i could add a class to my schedule to better my ability to transfer faster next year. and i must say the school was rather unappealing.
the employees there were rather impolite and pushy, i can understand their harshness- it was a sign up day for classes and it probably was very busy, but still, their tones could've at least been brought down a notch .
then my friend and i proceeded to the bookstore so that we could get our book list and see if we could purchase them for cheap online, but due to the "intelligent and friendly book staff" ( sorry if any of them check this page)and the fact the aisles were chained off (?) we received nothing, yes, you do save on tuition costs at rcc, but not on your book costs.
i know i shouldn't be bashing the school since i will be attending it this year but i just thought it was rather funny and that i should share this experience, i look foward to orientation and more bumps along the way this year at rcc.
